Stipula Fosco Maraini Limited Edition
Stipula salutes Italian
explorer and travel writer Fosco Maraini with a beautiful limited edition that
echoes the golden age of fountain pens, but with a modern twist”. The
retractable nib design is part of Stipula’s well known DaVinci collection of
capless writing instruments. Crafted in red translucent resin, the pen is then
overlaid with an intricate cut pattern plated with luxurious yellow gold. The
innovative engineering lies within the pen: the mechanism takes flight by
simply turning the barrel, which gracefully propels the 14K gold nib outward
into writing position. As you close the pen, a circular hood slowly covers the
retracting nib to cover it entirely. This patent pending design and mechanism
is extremely unique with its retractable point giving life to a refined writing
instrument that does not need a cap. Fosco Maraini was the author of many
pioneering travel books, most famously those based on his extensive travels
through Tibet and Japan. His scholarly works and lively reportage have been
translated throughout the world, while his photographs of Tibet and the Ainu
people are considered important historical records of the disappearing
cultures. The Fosco Maraini fountain pen is a numbered limited edition of 193
pieces and comes fitted with Stipula’s 14K STI Flex Ultrafine Ideografico nib.
Fills via standard cartridge or converter.
